The exhibition opening at Kunstraum Niederösterreich was great. Katrina Petter’s talk gave a good inside to public art in Niederösterreich which was the allover theme of the exhibition. Heimwehtropfen played some fine music with outthere lyrics on a stage they build the day before. Nicolas Mahler exhibited four drawings. One showed a retirement home with a big crossword puzzle billboard. In his eyes this is the only serious literature written specifically for old people. tat ort constructed a white wall that was slightly off on purpuse. It closed off the main entrance to the exhibition by just leaving a small part to glimpse through. Anna Artaker’s work took reference on how language defines public space. Catrin Bolt showed a video installation were she hugged statues and Daniel Domig’s sculptures were a reference to the archive as public memory. Last but not least the Motmot poster wall at the entrance of the exhibition which definitely added some color to the exhibition. You have time until the 3rd of October to see Fortsetzung folgt at Kunstraum Niederösterreich, Herrengasse, 1010 Vienna. The Motmot exhibition posters – all one-of-a-kind screenprints – can be purchased there for 35,- eur.
Catrin Bolt umarmt in ihrer Videoinstallation Statuen.

If you believe it or not, but yesterday we finished screen-printing the posters for the exhibition Fortsetzung folgt! Finally! Some of them we handed off to our curator earlier this summer. Picking up our friend at Coco, a new bar/gallery in Vienna’s first district, we spotted our poster hanging there on the backwall. Don’t miss the opening next thursday, September 17, at 7 pm at Kunstraum Niederösterreich, Herrengasse, 1010 Wien. There will be life music (Heimwehtropfen).
Endlich!

Hey there friends, buddies, associates, and compadres. I’m just giving a general update about what we’ve been up to. We have been busy. First and foremost are the posters we’ve been printing for the Fortsetzung Folgt (To Be Continued) exhibition, we’ve been asked to design and screen print a series of posters for an exhibition about public art in Lower Austria (Niederoesterreich.) The posters are turning out really great, the whole thing is a “work in process.” No two posters look exactly alike, and some of the posters and prints will actually be in the exhibition itself. You can catch a sneak peek to the left here! I will be writing more about this in the near future. The exhibition opens on Thursday, September 17th at 7 pm, at the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich, here in Vienna! See you there!
If that weren’t enough, some of our work will be featured in another exhibition titled “Cute Puppies” which takes place September 9th at the MAK in Vienna. We will have more details when we get them! The exhibition will feature some of my drawings from “Cheetahs Never Win” in giant format!
Speaking of Cheetahs Never Win, I’ve got most of issue #3 done in some form, and I’ve got a lot of sketches and ideas for the rest. After all this other creative work is finished, I will be hunkerin’ down in September and October to wrap it up, and it looks like CNW #3 will be out sometime in mid Autumn, I’m thinking sometime in October or November.
Motmot July Favorites (In no particular order) 1.Miracles “Colony Collapse” LP 2.Asterios Polyp, graphic novel by David Mazzucchelli 3.”Propaganda” LP by Propaganda (the English band NOT the German band) 4.Dave Edmunds, Welsh rockabilly legend 5.There’s Nothing Funny About Design, essays by David Barringer 6.Death By Black Hole, essays by Neil deGrasse Tyson 7.Wooden Birds “Magnolia” LP 8.Wednesday Comics by DC comics. 9.Dillinger Four “Civil War” LP 10.”Blackest Night” DC comics’ big summer blockbuster comics catastrophe is actually pretty rad. 11.Mr. Potato Head, no joke!
