Who Says Reading Is For The Birds?

miniZ is an educational workbook for children in elementary school, designed to teach children reading and media literacy, with a focus on newspapers.

One of the many projects with ZiS was redesigning their quarterly workbook. The task was twofold; to design a workbook that fit within ZiS’ new corporate identity, and to design something that kids would actually like. We incorporated original characters, which were an editorial staff made of birds. Paul the Parrot (editor in charge), Bruno the Raven (photographer), Ida the Owl (editor) with an ever growing cast when the need arises. The kids loved it! Yay! miniZ is in black and white with a color cover, published quarterly.
